Nails of the Day: Vintage Grey from CQ

Hey Everyone! So posting is a little slow this week, being the first week of classes and all! But I will get back into the swing of things next week, I promise! I have some AMAZING reviews for you all, some really fun tutorials that are centered around Fall trends and SO much more!! :) SO EXCITED!! hehe

Ok, onto the nails! So the greige (grey/beige) trend for nails continues! These colors are more grey than the mushroom-y colors we have seen before, like the Commander in Chic from Sally Hansen. But I really love the lighter color on my complexion!

This color is from CQ, which can be found at Walmart for just under $2.00 per bottle! They have some amazing colors, so I can't wait to try more!

The formula was awesome! No streaking, and only needed 2 light coats! I have been wearing this formula on my nails for a week now and BARELY have any tip wear, and no chipping!

The polish itself dries rather matte, just a tiny hint of light, but not really a shine, which I really like!

So if your in the market for one of these awesome griege colors, check out VINTAGE GREY from CQ!

Nails of the Day: Nude nails

So, I LOVE me a french manicure, but sometimes I just want something very subtle and pretty! Enter Wet n' Wild's nail mega last nail polish in Private Viewing. This color is the perfect nude for me, and lasts forever! I have had my nails painted for 8 days in this picture (without at top coat!!) and all I see is a little tip wear! THAT AMAZING!!

The whole line has some beautiful colors! You can check them out here: http://wnwbeauty.com/Product.php?Pid=27

I purchased this color at a K-Mart in New Mexico when I was on a mission trip a few weeks ago, but I know you can find wet n wild at many different drugstores and grocery stores, as well as Walmart!

Have fun paining! :)

New Look and Nails of the Day! :)

So everyone...what do you think?!?!
I am LOVING the new address (make sure to set your bookmarks!!) and the rotating headers! So much fun! Let me know what you think by leaving me a comment on this post!!

So, for a nail of the day post...I haven't had one of these in FOREVER, because I am almost always sporting a french manicure! But this week I was flipping through a magazine and saw this putty color and went crazy! I literally put down the magazine grabbed my keys and ran to Target to find it! hehe (lucky me, they had it!)

This color is Sally Hansen in Commander in Chic (LOVE THAT!)
here is the bottle:

here it is on the nails:

(its showing a little dark here, but its still beautiful!!)

Also...did you know its an exact dupe for Chanel Particulière (coming in at $22 per bottle!!)

(it's the one on the far left)

So at just $6.50 a bottle at Target, this is a WAY better deal! Now I applied three quick coats with no top coat and it is the perfect balance between shiny and matte, I love it!

Nails of the Day: I'm feeling blue

Well, not really! Im actually in a great mood! hehe (although I am quite sleepy!)
But I painted my nails blue to get a little fall in my life, and it must have worked! It's in the upper 50's and raining! NICE!!! :)

Color on my nails today is N.Y.C. Skin Tight Denim

"YOUR WILD!!!" : Nails of the Day

Had to title this with an Ode to Dirty Dancing! I love that part when Baby gets in the car and as they are driving through the rain, she shouts "YOUR WILD!!" Just my little gift of Patrick Swayze!!

So if I had to take the saying, "Your Wild!" and make it into nails...this would be it!

The products I used were:
White: NYC in French White (3 coats)
Purple tips: NYC purple pizzazz frost (2 coats) then I put one coat of LA Colors in Amethyst to give it some sparkle
Black stripes: LA Colors Art Deco in Black
(NYC can be purchased at most grocery stores, walmart, target, etc. LA Colors are from Family Dollar)

if you want to see how to do this yourself, here is the tutorial!

Nails of the Day: Leopard Nails...RWAR!!!!!

That's right Baby!! Leopard nails this week! I'm really breaking out of my shell with this one! :)

OK, so I did this look using:
Gold base color: Pure Ice in Jaguar $1.99 @ Walmart
spots: Revlon color chrome in Copper Chrome (I don't know if you can get this anymore but a metallic dark gold/brown tone will work well
Black: L.A.Colors Art Deco in Black $1.00 @ Family Dollar

I followed the bargain princess' tutorial here: http://xo-bargainprincess.blogspot.com/2009/07/cheetah-licious-nails.html

but I used the brush from the art deco to make the black, not a tooth pick, and for the spots, I used a brush from Masters Touch that I picked up at Hobby Lobby when it was 40% off.

It's the Masters Touch 6070 tight spot detailer (its got a clear handle and is angled at the top)

So get your RWAR on this summer with some fabo leopard nails!!

Nails of the Day: French Mani with a Rock n' roll twist!

Nails today are a french manicure with a twist! I love these two colors together in fashion and in makeup, so I thought, why not in nails? You could really do this with any two colors and make it look awesome! (and if your scared of it on your hands, remember to give some french tip love to those little piggies!! If you don't like it you can always wear socks! lol)

The colors I used are actually limited editions from Ulta, but I found DIRECT DUPES to them from NYC.
The Black is: Black Lace Creme
and the Pink is: Pink Promenade Creme

if your not good at free handing french tips, pick up some of those little tape like guides in the nail section at your local beauty supply store, drug store, or grocery store. They are awesome!!

Nails of the Day: N.Y.C rocks the summer!!

I L-O-V-E this color on my nails! Beautiful and bright!
It is Times Square Tangerine Creme from N.Y.C!

And believe it or not...it's only ONE COAT!! Yeah! I know! This formula is not streaky or anything...one coat and I was good to go!

These usually retail for $0.99 a bottle, but my local grocery store had a $0.50 coupon, so I got it for 49 CENTS!!! awesome!! :)

Oh, and this nail polish is an EXACT DUPE to O.P.I in "Nicole Alert"
My daughter gave Nicole Alert to me for mothers day, and these colors are like the exact same! (oh, unless you like having to do three coats of OPI to get the same color as this!) So save yourself the $8.50 and get the NYC!!

Nails of the Day: Perfect Peach!

I fell in love with this color from Ulta! Its like the perfect summer color!

Today's color is:
UTLA brand nail lacquer in Sunny Peach

this is 2 coats of color on my nails today. It's really beautiful and rich, not very streaky and glides on really nice!
I have been happy with the formula of ULTA's nail colors, so I would really recommend them!

Nails of the day: French Manicure on the Cheap!

I decided to do french nails today! I also filed my nails rather square for this look, so I lost some of my length....no biggie! It will come back! :)

I used N.Y.C. French Manicure in Love Letters for the pink and Wet n' Wild's French White Creme for the white tips. I just free handed the tips, so they are a little messy, but I think it will be alright for a couple of days! :)

The N.Y.C. retail for $.99 (if you have an HEB near you, pop in because they have a coupon for $1.00 off two NYC products so you get two polishes for $.99!)

The Wet N Wild Polishes retail for $.99 at most stores, some of them are $1.79

P.S!!! This pink color is a little streaky and REALLY clear, this is FIVE, yep 5, coats of it on my nails to get the pink color!!!
But the white is just one coat! :)

Holy purple nails Batman!

So I am not usually into nail polish, but lately I have seen some beautiful colors at the store that I just had to buy some.........but you know me! I'm CHEAP! So this Bargainista decided to try out some cheap polish and let you know what I thought!

So below you will see the two that I used. The purple undercoat is Purple Pizzazz Frost from N.Y.C. and the top coat with the chunky glitter is Starry Silver Glitter, also from N.Y.C.

These polishes retail for $0.99 at most drugstores/super markets. So not bad for $2!
**side note, I let my daughter choose these colors and I think she did a great job! I did her nails just like mine this morning, so we are nail twins now! :)
